Anna

Anna believes that a thriving family is bedrock for everything we hold dear, individually and collectively. Through her work with families, her studies, and her own experiences, she has come to appreciate how multi-dimensional the transition to parenthood is. She has seen and felt the difference made by abundant loving care and attention for all members of the family.

Her passion for supporting families through birth and the postpartum time stems from belief in and dedication to autonomy, process, and growth. She is a skilled listener and a warm and empathetic presence. She completed birth and postpartum doula training through Doulas of North America in 2012 and became a certified lactation counselor through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice in 2013. From 2013-2016 she was a volunteer full-spectrum doula with the Doula Project. She has also volunteered with the Mothers' Milk Bank of Austin, Texas, mixing and packaging donated milk for NICU babies!

Anna holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase and was a professional dancer for 13 years. She is a mother of two forces of nature. Her own births, and especially her own postpartum experiences, have been deeply transformative, eye opening and life altering. She holds and inspires reverence for the birth and postpartum transition and addresses all facets of well being for the whole family in her work

  • “Anna was a calm, serene and devoted presence throughout my labor, helping to make the process (even with a last minute transfer to the hospital) a peaceful and spiritual event for both myself and my partner. She “read” me extremely well, and seemed to anticipate what I needed at every moment, from hydration to soothing touch to soothing my partner. Giving birth was the most profound experience of my life, and Anna supported and enriched that experience from my pregnancy to holding my amazing newborn baby in my arms.”
