Bori and Jaye

Bori

Bori, born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, lives in Great Neck, Long Island with her husband, two teenage boys, her dog and cat. Bori is a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a lactation specialist and aromatherapist. She’s been a doula for about 6 years and has been working with Jaye in a partnership model for four years.
She had trained with DONA, with Whapio the Matrona, spent a week training at Ina May Gaskin’s Farm with her midwives, and completed a 3-year Mentorship program at Manhattan Birth, with Tanya Wills.
She is currently finishing up her childbirth educator and prenatal yoga instructor training. She is also a breastfeeding specialist, and loves working with new parents and babies in the early weeks.
Bori loves and wonders at physiological birth and believes in the innate power of women/birthing people everywhere.

Jaye

Jaye attended her first birth while in college and fell under the birth-spell of life-affirming transformation that is the gift of the work of labor, delivery and the childbearing year.  She has learned from her own reproductive journey much of what she shares as a Perinatal Health Educator.  She lives in South Slope, Brooklyn with her  husband Spike. She has received education and training in  The Manhattan Birth Masters Program where she has trained as an Advanced Holistic, Hospital and Postpartum Doula with The Matrona and as an Integrated Lactation and Feeding Specialist.  Additionally, Jaye is a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor with certifications in CPR, and NRP. Jaye particularly loves the wonder weeks of the 4th trimester, supporting, negotiating and reinforcing with confidence, the overnights and first weeks of newborn care in the ever changing landscape of growing outside of the womb and into your lives as newborn parents.

  • "Bori and Jaye were there for me during a difficult high-risk pregnancy and a 48-hour labor and c-section delivery. Bori was by my side during the entire time asking nurses questions and offering pain-relieving and coping solutions such as heating blankets, breathing techniques and position changes. They were kind, gentle, listened to me and encouraged me to listen to my body and to my baby too. I felt more informed and empowered to trust my instincts. It was also helpful to know that I could always follow up with questions and have the support I needed given their wealth of information, tools, and professional network. They helped me and my husband how to swaddle, understand the baby's different cues, shortcuts for storing the breast pump easily, etc. Hiring them was the best decision and we were much better off for having them on our team. Thank you for everything!"
