Ildi and Sam
Ildi
Ildi is a mother, a wife, a daughter, an educator, and dedicated labor support person who believes everyone deserves support during the perinatal phase of their lives. Since 2013, she has dedicated herself to supporting others through knowledge, care and compassion. As a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, she support individuals and families throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.
Ildi believes that everyone should receive evidence-based, unbiased information to be able to self-advocate and choose the care they desire for the best possible perinatal experience. She makes sure that your questions are answered, your concerns are alleviated and your pregnancy and birth are treasured for the rest of your life.
Having lived and worked in four different countries around the world, and with fluency in three languages, she has a unique appreciation of cultural, linguistic and spiritual nuances. Now, she currently lives in Mamaroneck, NY with her husband and two daughters. She loves hiking, cooking and skiing!
Sam
Sam was called to birth work after years in the mental health health field working with children and families. Doula work combined her passions for supporting the well-being of people in her community, combating systemic injustices, and centering mindful family care.
Sam’s role in the birth and postpartum space is to provide emotional, spiritual, physical, and informational support to families. She makes every effort to encourage clients’ educated decision-making, reassure them throughout the perinatal experience, as well as help them advocate for their birthing choices both in and out of the delivery room. Through a mindful combination of evidence-based techniques, effective comfort measures, and cultural practices, she fosters a positive birth and postpartum environment for the birthing person and their entire family.
In addition to birth and postpartum work, in her free time she also enjoys practicing yoga, creating art, cooking delicious foods, and spending time in nature.
