Vilma is a Native New Yorker born to Salvadoran parents. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Working as an Early Childhood Educator for eight years led her to dive into the postpartum world. She also has three children and understands the need for help in a time of need. Now, Vilma is using all her skills, knowledge, life experiences, and a good sense of humor to help families in the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Vilma is an Overnight Postpartum Doula and has worked with a diverse community of people throughout New York City, Brooklyn, New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester. Vilma is nurturing, loving, and caring. She will listen to you without judgment. She truly cares for the whole family and always respects family decisions. And when a parent is in doubt, she will reassure you how wonderful you are doing with your baby. Vilma will help you understand what is happening to your body and come up together with a plan that will best suit your family's needs.

  • "Vilma has been incredibly helpful to our family. I have an almost 3 year old boy, and a new baby girl. Vilma has been a breath of fresh air, helping me to feel “normal” and calm, while simultaneously caring for our new little girl, feeding and playing with our toddler, and somehow doing dishes and cleaning the fridge. She is a boss at multitasking. She is also great at getting to the heart of what mom really needs. She made me feel comfortable to ask for what I really needed, and on days where I was too tired to even know, she just took over and gave me a break so I could function again. She is also a great listener. I wound up sharing my fears with her about my oldest starting 3k (which was timed perfectly with my newborn). It was a hard adjustment with me being hormonal and feeling like I was “pushing out” one baby for another, and him being clingy and crying at drop-offs. Vilma has a background in early childhood education, and just helped talk me through figuring out what I really wanted and needed. which wound up being for me to give school some more time. My son loves it now and I am so grateful we didn’t pull him out! Overall, I strongly recommend Vilma to anyone about to give birth or having recently given birth. She is amazing!"

  • "From the very beginning, Vilma was warm, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to get to know me and my needs and preferences, and I felt completely at ease in her presence. Vilma was a wonderful doula and we thoroughly enjoyed working with her. She was knowledgeable, extremely trustworthy, and empathetic. She went above and beyond to meet our expectations; without her support I'm not sure how we would have gotten through the early postpartum days. She gave effective advice when asked, but never overstepped. Overall, I cannot thank Vilma enough for all that she did for me and my family. She is an incredibly skilled and compassionate professional, and I would recommend her services to anyone looking for a supportive and empowering experience."

  • "Vilma has been an indispensable part of my postpartum journey and has supported our family tremendously. She is kind, warm and cheerful, and has so much empathy for me as a first-time mom. She takes such good care of baby and always shares useful tips on feeding, playing, sleeping and newborn care. She has a huge sense of responsibility and tries her very best to accommodate our family's needs, and I always look forward to her visits and rely heavily on her support. She is an amazing and dedicated postpartum doula and her values shine through everything she does for me and baby. I feel so lucky to have her support and cannot recommend her enough!"

  • "It was such a privilege to have Vilma with our family after our second child was born. She was a calm and reassuring presence as we navigated the nights during the first month. She always arrived ready to jump in and help with whatever needed attention whether it was the baby, the laundry or the dinner aftermath. She will always ask you how you would like her to do things but she also has advice and guidance at the ready for when you have questions. I was breastfeeding on demand and Vilma would bring the baby to my bed to nurse and then diaper and settle her back to sleep, it was such a huge help and let me squeeze in as much sleep as possible. If I wanted company while nursing in the night she was there to chat and it made the nights so much less lonely. We would highly recommend Vilma to anyone looking for some extra support during the newborn phase."
